Student Leaders Have Arrived!!
About 2 weeks ago i had waited for this moment,the moment that me and my fellow year 6 friends got to get a opportunity to be able to be a student leader.To become a student leader you needed to be a year 6 and you also had to be able to be confident to stand up in front of your classroom and do a under 2 minute speech about why you want to be a student leader and what would make you a good student leader.Me,Maiya,Ruby T,Ruby H,Jack,Lily,Arika,AmKyra,Akshita,Poppy H,and Toby.All of the speeches were very good.After all of the speeches were done our classroom had to vote for one person that they thought that would make a great student leader and the we would find out another day.
The next day.....
Today we got told that we will be getting told who were our student leaders after morning tea.So straight after morning tea we all did our maths practice and waited for our results.Then Miss Jackson said to us and the student leaders for 2019 in Rooms 17/18 are and then she said to have a drum roll please and we all did.dumdumdumdumdumdumdum and then we stopped.Then the first name got called out.Jack!,Lily,Kaitanu and Maiya!I was so happy my name was called out.But wait where was Maiya she wasn't there?Lily said she was at Staffroom duty so we made a plan and said that when she comes back we will surprise her since we were doing HPE games.When we were lining up Maiya was coming back and she was with Ruby and when she was getting closer and closer and closer we all started cheering!Woohoo,Yay Well Done.I could see Maiya and she but her hands over her mouth and as soon as she did that i could tell she was so happy!Then when we started to do our HPE games Maiya asked me when are we going to get our badge and our shirts and i said to her i have no idea but all of us student leaders thought that we would get them next week at the whole school assembly but our teacher said we would just have to wait.
Next Friday…..
We were all so excited thinking today was going to be the day that we get our student leader badges and shirts!As we entered the hall silently we sat down and i was behind Maiya,and as soon as i looked up at where the hosts where i could see our school uniforms and i said to Maiya’’Those might be our shirts’’ and she said’’ Yeah they look like them’’
.So half way through the assembly the host said’’ Could Mr Bigge and Mrs Goldsmith please come up to the stage to present the principles awards and give out the student leader badges and shirts’’.Oh my gosh we were getting our shirts and badges today!!!!!I couldn't wait to go up there and receive it.As Mr Bigge called out the names it went like this’’ from room 24 Kyan and Abigail,from room 23 Amber and Caroline,from room 22 Lewis and Laura,from room 17/18 Jack,Kaitanu(thats me!),Maiya and Lily!I went up to Mr Bigge and we shaked hands and the he said ‘’ here you go’’ giving me the shirt of a student leader and the badge of a student leader.But then he whispered into my ear the the shirt was FAKE and that i would have to bring it up to the office after the asswmbly.So after the assembly i went up to the office and most of the student leaders where there.We had to fold them up and Mrs Muir told us that we would be getting our student leader shirts later in the 2 weeks.
Throughout those two weeks me and Maiya have shown 3 families around our school.I call that our school tour.All 3 families are so nice and have always asked us so much questions.And me and Maiya just figured out that mostly all of the questions are asked by the mum and the dad only asks a little amount of questions.
